More details of the TA responsibilities will be worked out by the student and supervising instructor. Work is 10-20 hours per week; the TA will meet with the instructor to determine the best schedule.
Required Qualifications
Must be a current UVU student.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Assistance with grading – review and score assignments, quizzes, and exams.
Assistance with managing events.
Event marketing.
Vendor/Speaker communications.
Assisting/advising students in their responsibilities.
Event set-up/tear-down.
Organize event materials/supplies/décor.
Marketing and promotion for event program.
Tabling for event program.
Visiting classrooms to help students.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to work with a variety of personality types.
Complete assignments in a timely manner.
Communicate student concerns to faculty.
Raise concerns and provide feedback to the instructor regarding student performance.
Evaluate student work fairly and objectively.
Must maintain confidentiality.
Must be respectful, courteous, prompt, and dependable.
Communicate regularly with instructor(s).
Preferred Qualifications
Have taken HM 4200 Event Planning.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a general office setting, with some lifting required.
Ability to use general office equipment; computers, printers, etc.
