Position Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Handler is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Warehouse, order fulfillment, receiving materials, and directing transporters of materials.

This is a role for someone who is highly organized with the ability to handle a constant flow of items coming in and out. The Shipping and Receiving Handler must easily adapt to changes in the order plan as needed. This role requires control of and accurate reporting of inventory and accuracy for orders being shipped to the customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the shipments according to orders and help with loading the outgoing items on trucks.
• Communicate with Warehouse and Inventory Manager, Planning, and Operations to align work schedule with operations plans.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory of supplies and products.
• Follow the safety protocols for workers and equipment.
• Investigate and resolve inconsistencies with inventory.
• Communicate with team members to determine the incoming and outgoing times of the new items, while efficiently managing space and inventory.
• Manage the reception of goods that will be stored in the warehouse.
• Coordinate the movement of trailers and onsite storage to prevent product loss.
• Implements daily production and shipping plan.
• Operates forklift to move product and materials.

Project management/Systems and Software:

• Complete all aspects of assigned projects.
• Present progress updates and status reports.
• Utilize designated software to update and manage the project.

Minimum Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· One year previous Warehouse experience preferred.

· CDL driver’s license preferred.

· Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to work with team members, clients, and suppliers.

· Fluent oral and written English Language skills.

· Strong attention to detail to ensure all work processes are accurate.

· Ability to work with a team.

· Math skills to make sure all calculations are correct and avoid any unforeseen losses for the company.

· Forklift driving experience and/or certification.

Work Environment:

· Some work is performed in a standard office environment located within a poultry processing plant.

· Most work may require moving materials and products around within a poultry processing plant.

Physical Requirements Necessary To Perform This Job:

· Sit or stand at a desk for short periods of time.

· Hear and speak effectively to communicate in person and over the phone with employees, vendors, and customers.

· Visual acuity to read computer screens and printed documents.

· Required to lift and carry parts and machinery up to 70 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 – $27.00 per hour
