Severn School HIRING FOR Lower School Remote Learning/Substitute Teacher AT Severna Park, MD Full Time

Severn School, Lower School Division, is seeking a full time Remote Learning/Substitute Teacher for the 2022-23 school year who will be responsible for providing instruction in the classroom or remotely depending upon the needs for the day. Qualified candidates are expected to implement and follow teacher provided lesson plans and at times create/adjust lesson plans both in person and in a virtual learning environment. Flexibility to adjust and implement the needed daily schedule, ability to work with children from preschool (age 3) to grade 5 at the Lower School, and ability to work collaboratively with all teaching colleagues are required. Duties for this position will vary based upon the needs of each school day include:

• substitute teacher in a preschool through fifth grade classroom,
• coordinate with classroom teachers to compile and send classwork home when remote learning is needed,
• communicate with students and parents when remote learning is the mode of instruction,
• teach students remotely using Zoom,
• work as an assistant in a classroom when substituting and remote learning teaching is not needed, and
• other duties as assigned (that may include some recess and lunch supervision).

This is a contracted position for one school year. Teaching experience and undergraduate degree in education or related field required.
