Position Summary:
The Security Officer is responsible for the security and safety of MultiCare’s patients, staff, employees and visitors, and protection of MultiCare Health System properties. The Security Officer functions as the first responder to incidents and maintains command until relieved, treating all those encountered with respect and kindness during stressful and challenging situations. The Security Officer files reports; conducts investigations; assures all hospital safety and security policies and procedures are met; escalates and communicates situations to security leadership for dissemination to senior leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
Six (6) months of experience in police, military, or security, preferable in a health care setting
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
High School graduate or equivalent preferred
Valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from Washington state
IAHSS Basic Certification, or ability to obtain, within one year of placement in position; current staff must become certified by 12/31/2020″ />
