We are looking for a dynamic individual who can adapt and thrive into multiple roles. This is a position that is full time, year-around. Ranch duties change with the seasons. In the wintertime your duties would likely be more based around making sure the cabins/lodge rooms get deep cleaned and shut down properly for the winter and that the lodge, gameroom, and all facilities remain clean and in top shape throughout the winter. You should be able to jump in if needed to cook easy meals for the crew (think casseroles and crock pot dinners). You may be asked to lend a hand with feeding, general ranch chores or any of the light maintenance projects we do in the wintertime (such as painting or beatification projects around the interior buildings). You should be willing to answer our phones with a smile and take messages for any guests who are inquiring about summertime stays.
Come springtime, duties will shift to getting cabins opened up and deep cleaned in anticipation for guests. Your duties at this time may shift to more of a “head of housekeeping” role. But make no mistake, you will be leading from the front, by example, and with boots on the ground. At this time there will be lawns and gardens to prep and maintain as well. We will have ranch guests from March through October at various times. There is downtime in-between our guest stays for projects, etc. That is a schedule we can discuss further if this seems to be a good fit.
This position is best suited for an individual who is fit, who doesn’t like being bored with the “same old thing” syndrome and who wants to have room to grow in a company where you can see yourself staying for years to come. We are looking for a self-starter, self-motivator, someone who can take direction as well as provide direction. We all work and live together out here remotely so a great attitude and great teamwork is ideal. Wintertime is cold and long out here. It’s a good idea to know whether or not you enjoy the cold and whether you enjoy the remote. This place has plenty of both! It’s great for cross country skiing, snowshoeing in the winter, as well as hiking, biking and swimming in the summertime.
Cats are never allowed. Dogs are allowed on a case-by-case basis but not on the guest premises. We are not looking to hire a family or a couple, we only have room for a solo employee at this time.
We are 40 minutes from the nearest small town, about an hour from the city of Kalispell and about 2 hours from Glacier National Park.
Pay DOE. You will receive a salary plus tips. Health insurance and 401k with matching funds are available for full-time employees. Room and board are included. We have Starlink Satellite Internet here so you will be able to keep in touch with family and friends.
