GPW Recruitment Looking For Chartered Senior Structural Inspector / Building Inspector At London Full Time

We are looking for a Chartered Senior Structural Inspector / Building Inspector with experience of the structural inspection of industrial buildings and subsequent report writing, for an Outside of IR35 contract working at various MOD sites across the country for a contract until early 2023, with the potential to go much longer. MOD sites experience is not essential, industrial buildings is. Pay rates are negotiable depending on experience, expenses are paid and whilst your location could be Scotland/North England, the South East or the Midlands, you could actually be based anywhere on the UK mainland as long as you are prepared to visit sites anywhere in the UK.

Working as the successful Chartered Senior Structural Inspector / Building Inspector, you will be producing inspection reports and working on a portfolio of condition and structural inspection works on a variety of Government estate buildings; hangars, schools, workshops, towers, masts, etc. Responsibilities including structural analysis of buildings to confirm stability under new or existing load cases.

Essential requirements

*Chartered Engineer – Civil Engineer, Structural Engineer, Building Surveyor or similar

*Background in structural inspection and reporting for buildings

*Project Management skills

*Ability to work at height and knowledge of the procedures, including climbing using harnesses

*Ability to work in Confined Spaces and knowledge of procedures

*Good team player with leadership skills

*Good communicator (written and verbal)

*Current UK driving license

*British Passport with 5 years unbroken residency (holidays of up to 28 days within the 5 years is permitted) to enable security clearance. If you do not have security clearance you can still get started and you will be escorted on-site whilst clearance is obtained.

*Basic computer literacy in Microsoft Office

Desirable requirements:

*Experience of managing multi-disciplinary projects involving other business lines

*Knowledge of discipline(s) additional to the structural inspection remit e.g. M+E, environment, geotechnical.

*Experience of reporting in accordance with DIO practitioner guides

*SC clearance
