At New Pathway Counseling, our treatment specialists work with adolescents and their families to heal their minds, bodies, and spirits. Through Functional Integrated Therapy, we foster the development of our client’s awareness and utilize the most effective outpatient treatment modalities. Our program is designed for adolescents ages 12-18 who need a structured environment, have a history of substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorders, and are unsuccessful in outpatient and traditional school environment. Join Our Team
We are seeking an Education Specialist (Certified Teacher) for home instruction to join our team of professionals. The Education Specialist (Certified Teacher) works as a part of the treatment team to ensure adolescents maintain scholastic progress, complete assignments, and perform at a level of competence. The Education Specialist plays an important role in delivering a safe, therapeutic, and educational environment to provide positive outcomes for adolescents in our day treatment program.
Requirements
To be considered for the Education Specialist position, you will need:
· Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
· NJ teacher certification
· Experience with adolescent behavioral health including mental health and substance use disorders
· Knowledge of Chromebook, Google Classroom and other educational supports preferred
Education Specialist (Teacher) Responsibilities
· Function as part of the treatment team and assist in maintaining and evaluating individual educational plans
· Motivate and supervise adolescents to complete all assignments and assessments provided by their high school
· Confer with parents and/or students to ensure educational needs are met
· Adhere to State and Federal education standards, testing guidelines, and mandates
· Document adjustment and progress in relation to education and treatment plans, maintain academic and attendance records
· Provide guidance to adolescents, with responsibility for their safety, education, treatment plan, and personal conduct
· Effectively communicate with school counselors and educators regarding adolescent’s academic needs and progress
Pay: $45-$60 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:30am-12:30pm
