Chamberlain College of Nursing HIRING FOR Vice President, Advising and Retention Services AT Remote Full Time

The VP, Advising and Retention Services provides leadership, direction, and overall strategy for delivery of Chamberlain’s university-wide student advising and retention services. Reporting to the VP of Operations for Chamberlain, the incumbent will lead a team of 75+ colleagues, and work in conjunction with key stakeholders, inside and outside Chamberlain, to develop and execute against an overall strategy ensuring that key performance indicators and established student retention outcomes are achieved. This is a non-student facing role.

Responsibilities

Proven track record of driving results and consistently exceeding organization and student performance expectations and student satisfaction.

Has demonstrated track record of driving sustainable change to improve performance and leading the organization successfully through change.

Provides consultation, leadership and operational oversite in developing and maintaining state of the art services for students in the areas of registration, continued enrollment and overall academic advising services.

Has top line accountability for measuring and maintaining excellent service to students and achieving key performance indicators and student retention outcomes.

Through the development of customer focused and student success metrics, ensures that the department maintains a high level of customer satisfaction regarding their ability to effectively counsel students on academic schedules, needed resources, and preparedness for academic courses.

Provides direct management and supervision of the leadership team (and subsequent team of 75+ colleagues) responsible for the delivery of advising services for pre-licensure, post-licensure and graduate students both on campus and online ensuring an environment of consistency, accuracy and strong customer service outcomes. Builds and develops a high performing, well trained team that provides best in class services and approaches.

Evaluates effectiveness of ongoing enrollment and academic advising processes and develops continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the quality of services delivered.

Provides thought leadership and develops strategies, goals and objectives at the College level in order to meet strategic goals.

Works closely with key stakeholders to ensure that department and location objectives remain in alignment.

Participates in and oversees the selection and onboarding of colleagues and provides ongoing feedback and coaching regarding their performance and develops/invests in strong individual development plans and succession plans for critical leadership roles.

Leads effectively, with decisiveness and collaboratively in a matrix environment and effectively solves problems through excellent influence and conflict management skills.

Works collaboratively with ATGE centers of excellence to secure appropriate resources to support an excellent student experience. This involves strong, collaborative relationships and ability to influence to get the right resources for Chamberlain and its students.

Ensures compliance with internal policies and State and Federal guidelines and laws and update and communicates as necessary.

Actively participates in appropriate associations, committees, and activities as well as attends appropriate conferences.

Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master’s degree preferred

At least 10 years of strong operational leadership in complex customer service role in any industry.

Excellent leadership skills – ability to inspire others, build trust, resolve conflict, solve problems and operate at pace; creates a highly engaged and high performing team with minimal turnover; naturally creates followership

Knowledge of the principles, practices, methodology and key metrics for student success.

Must have strong analytical and organizational skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a matrix organization
