Seeking a Senior Designer for Bernie by Bernardo (Women’s young contemporary outerwear).

The Senior Designer will need to create lines by season, CAD Presentations and Merchandised Sample Presentations that are on trend & sellable to ensure the Brand integrity to sales team. 

This role will be responsible to plan and to develop a collection that suits the brand identity.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to create a fresh young contemporary outerwear line
• Ability to create original tech packs including details specs and all style information, artwork and color palettes
• Presents market research, competitor shopping and direction
• Manage overseas fabric seasonal sourcing
• Manage development sample prototype requests
• Prepare for buyer meetings & presentations (track all samples, fabric qualities, any visuals for the meeting)
• Manage the design process from initial concept CAD development to final adoption
• Actively produces work on their own and dives into tech packs, CADs, and mailing overseas packages
• Collaborate with Sales VP Director to strategize new business development and ideas to maximize sales
• must provide a T&A calender between Sales and Production to maintain timing between Sales, Design and Production

Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years of fashion design experience 
• Technical knowledge of fabrications and garment construction
• Ability to cost engineer to achieve target costs while maintaining integrity of the product
• Ability to understand diversified brand processes and needs
• Computer savvy with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, detail oriented
• Ability to take direction, multitask, work well in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to anticipate and take the initiative to get the job done right
