Vacancy – Engineering Manager Required.
Our client is an award-winning residential developer who are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join their Design & Technical team.
Reporting to the Technical Director, the Engineering Manager will provide a practical and cost effective technical services to the company and will be responsible for the civil ‘due diligence’ of new land acquisitions to ensure that all abnormal costs are identified. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for producing technical design solutions within the cost plan or approved appraisal budget, this will encompass site evaluation, architectural and engineering design, the investigation of any technical problems encountered and the provision of economical and viable solutions, this will involve liaison with, the appointment of and the co-ordination of external consultants.
The ideal candidate will have experience gained within the new build housing sector and will have had experience in producing engineering appraisal reports and full detailed due-diligence packs, Road/ Sewer/ Foundation technical design drawings, construction details, specifications to current design standards and all other information required to obtain planning, highway S38, S278 and drainage S104 & adoption approvals.
Knowledge:-
·Keen interest and knowledge of industry innovations and engineering solutions.
·A good understanding of Local Authority requirements.
·Preferably an existing relationship with local engineers in the highways departments and drainage authorities.
Skills:-
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·Competent user of AutoCAD for checking drawings when required.
·Creative flair and innovative approach to problem solving.
·Competent user of Microsoft office packages.
·Effective prioritisation and organisational skills.
·Self-motivated and pro-active.
·Ability to communicate technical information.
·Attention to detail.
Experience / Qualifications :-
·BSc in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification desired.
·Previous experience working on new build residential schemes is advantageous.
·Proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
